You served your country, and you deserve to know exactly how your information is handled. This policy explains what EarnedGuide collects, why, and the control you have over it — in plain language, without the legalese.

What we collect

• Account information. The name and email address you use to create and sign in to your account.
• Your service and benefits profile. Details you choose to provide — such as branch, service era, disability rating, and dependents — so we can match you to relevant benefits.
• Documents you upload. Files you store in EarnedGuide, such as your DD-214, VA letters, or claim documents.
• Usage data. Basic information about how you use the app, which helps us keep it reliable and improve it over time.

You are always in control of the profile details and documents you share. You can use much of EarnedGuide without providing sensitive information — the more you choose to share, the more personalized your matches become.

How we use your information

We use your information to provide and personalize the service: to match you to benefits you may be eligible for, to power your calculators and tracker, to keep your documents available to you, and to maintain the security and reliability of the platform. We do not use your information to make decisions about your benefits — only the VA does that.

We do not sell your personal data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share your profile, documents, or benefits information with advertisers or data brokers. Full stop.

Sensitive military and health information

Some of the information you provide — such as your disability rating or service-connected conditions — is sensitive. We treat it that way. It is used only to power the features you ask for, it is protected with access controls so it is tied to your account, and it is never used for advertising. You decide whether to provide it, and you can remove it at any time.

How your information is stored

Your account data is stored in Supabase, protected by row-level security so that records are scoped to your account and are not accessible to other users. Documents you upload are kept in private storage that is accessible only to you through your authenticated account — they are not public, and they are not indexed or shared.

Your rights

You are in control of your information. At any time you can:

• Access the information associated with your account.
• Correct or update your profile and documents.
• Delete your account and the data associated with it.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards — including authentication, row-level security, private document storage, and encryption in transit — to protect your information. No online service can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable steps to keep your data protected and to limit access to it.
